GROUP THERAPY

Relational Group Therapy is extremely powerful, cost effective and can profoundly enhance your most important relationships.

Each therapy group is made up of 5 to 8 individuals, both men and women, and meets weekly for an hour and a half.

Groups may be comprised of currently married, divorced, or single adult members who have in common a desire to improve their abilities to engage in and sustain more rewarding relationships.

You and I will meet first in an individual consultation, so that I can better match you with other individuals that would help make your group experience deeper, more productive and enjoyable.

In addition to group therapy, I may recommend individual or couple therapy or psychoanalysis to complement and help you better integrate your group experience.

 •Resolve your hurt and anger while developing a capacity for greater intimacy

•Develop a healthier interactional style that will be less self-defeating

•Develop a more empathic listening-style that will enable others to feel safer and more comfortable when discussing personal issues with you

•Express your feelings in a manner that will evoke compassionate understanding and empathy rather than defensiveness in others

•Better understand how painful childhood experiences have led to repetitive relational patterns that influence your perceptions, expectations and emorional responses in current adult interactions
